Blush of Winter

Because it's cold out here in California, I'm bringing you warm kisses and the embrace of luxuriously soft knit sweaters to warm your winter day.  The Alice Mesh Dress by Chandelle fits like a dream, and I love the white/red gradient shade, which actually looks more of a blush pink to me.  You can find at the Winter Wishes Market through January 7th, for only 99L.

I've snuggled deeper into the warm sweatery mood by topping it off with the red Winter Scarf by Auxiliary, from the current TDR (The Dressing Room) Fusion selection.  If you haven't been to the new location, please update your landmarks and get rid of the old TDR and TDR-Blue

While there are an amazing variety of lovely new skins out right now, I just keep coming back to my favorite skin, the Melissa Sunkissed by Belleza, that I've been wearing since my birthday in June.  To it, I've added the Sunny Smoke Eyeshadow in pink from MONS, found now at TDR Fusion.

My hair is Volume by Magika.  If you haven't been to Magika in awhile, they have a wonderful selection of mesh hairs now, as well as the stand-by sculpted selection.  And you get a huge pack of color options for only 250L.  Magika, I love you in my life.  I also recently blogged the After style by Magika, here, and just love the quality and realism of the newer Magika styles.

I have a real treat to share today, from the talented and very creative designers that shared these review items with me today.  All of the clothing I'm wearing in this photoshoot is from Chandelle, for the Fashion Voodoo Event, which lasts until August 30th.

Mixing it up with the layers, we have a gorgeous bodysuit and panty set, open flowery jacket, Bree workout pants and Alex denim pants, and the Shoe Barbie all from Chandelle.

I also found a pair of Black Denim Mules by OOTT (Out Of The Trunk) at the Cart Sale at The Wash for only 10L while I was out looking for a place to do my photo shoot.

The entire avatar (except hair) is called Elisa and is a creation of *Stars*Fashion* who has a promo right now on the Marketplace for only 99L for this shape, skin, eyes, eyelashes and brows.  And the body is Modify!  This pleases me to no end, because as you know in a mesh dominated fashion world, it's so essential to have shapes that are modify.

Now one small thing I didn't do, which I wanted to, but decided to keep the avatar shape exactly as it comes purchased is... I would have lengthened the arms.  They are just a bit too short for a model of this height and made a few of the pictures look just a little bit unreal.  But it's an easy fix of course, so no worries!  I recommend buying her if only to have a new look in your closet to change into when you just need a new perspective on things.

And the hair!  Nita Bracken of Tameless has created this lush and lovely Isabelle hair. Very reasonably priced, the color packs include one scripted hairstyle that can change into 4 colors for 179L, or you can buy her MegaPack of all colors for only 719L - and - they come in Petite sizes as well, so be careful when you place your order to buy for either full size avatars or petites.

In the second pic I got the bright idea to try on my Jolie sculpted prim hands by SLink and really love how smooth and lovely and graceful they are.  You can color change the nail color, and choose silver/gold or no ring.  These beautiful Paper Butterflies by Baffle! can be found at the Vintage Fair, and wow I just love the feeling I have when I hold the bottle, setting them free.  My heart flies away with them!

Hello Gang,

It's been awhile since I last posted and I want to apologize to my friends and fans for the disappearance.  Real Life grid has been a hectic place this spring, and while it's been keeping me busy, I've been longing for a little "Me" time to log in and enjoy SL.

While I've been gone, the Petites craze has been taking off, and I'm looking forward to blogging about some Petite looks soon.  But today, I'm playing catch up on opening up and enjoying the generous gifts of some very talented designers that have sent me some things while I was away.  Thank you for your generosity and for sharing your beautiful talents with me!

Today, I will be highlighting a sexy little black dress from Stars Fashion called "Lovingly Black", and I adore it.  The flouncy ruffles at the bust are sure to be a tease, and the tempting bow tied at the front also a nice touch.

A fun dress that you can dress up or down, and would even be lovely as a tunic top over jeans, leggings or tights.  The dress also comes with a pair of black ankle booties, though I decided to show another pair of shoes with this dress today.

The shoes are the new mesh "Pry." heels by Chandelle with rhinestones and little bows dressing up the back of the heel.  Love these!  Also from Chandelle, the super adorable Emie Rabbit skin with painted on whiskers and "kiss me now" lips.  Je t'adore!  Shown here with hairbase.  Chandelle, I adore it!  Thank you~

Crowning the look, the beautiful mesh Sybille2 tresses in cinnamon from Wasabi Pills.  Can't say enough good about this hair.  Oh, and they make hair for Petites too!  I *love* having full lovely hair draping over my chest without prims poking through.  Mesh mesh mesh... love it!

Daring to bare it all for Chandelle skins... here is Anna2 in Pale from Chandelle.  I love this skin!  Anna 2 comes in four tones - Light, Pale, Medium and Tan, with 4 makeup/lipstick colors per skin.

I'm also delighted with Exile's Jules hair found right now at The Dressing Room Blue in four beautiful colors.  Such high quality hair at bargain prices... you just can't beat the Dressing Room.  Exile often features new and exclusive styles or colors at the Dressing Room.  And, being a long time Exile fan I can't help but swing by The Dressing Room to see if he has anything new out.

While at The Dressing Room, I also got myself "Boomified".  I fell in love with the fun Early Summer Days set from Boom. Shown here with the Everyday Tank in Lime and the Feel Free shorts in bleached blue, the set also comes with another tank option not shown but great for layering.  The whole set was such a steal.  Everything you find at The Dressing Room is less than 70L.

Also from Chandelle, these delicious Shoe Barbie heels in Guava, an exclusive color available only at the  Tropicalia Big Bazaar event on Reale.

Photo Tips - You can take beautiful raw photos in Second Life with no photoshopping needed.  It helps to find a nice backdrop or setting to take your photos in.  I also prefer to use the AnaLu Studio 5 windlight settings to give a nicely lit appearance to the skin.  Also, play with having Atmospheric Shaders on or off.  In the bare skin photos I have it set to on, but I don't really like the harsh glow it gives to the skin.  The close up skin pictures I've unchecked Atmospheric Shaders. Here I found a beautiful setting in a faerie wood near the Del May mainstore and also standing on the back of a dragon, with colorful glowing wings.  He didn't seem to mind.

I was chatting with a friend of mine about her daughter who is sick.  I sure hope she feels better soon and I know how worried she is for her daughter.  I don't know what it is lately, but so many people I know are sick or have family members who are struggling with colds and flu (or worse) lately.  Wherever you are, I hope you're staying safe, happy and healthy!

It got me thinking again though about plants and herbs and wanting to grow a bigger garden again this spring, and how something seemingly so simple could be so healing in a natural and gentle way.  I suggested to my friend that she find an herbal store in her area and get some Lemon Balm tea for her daughter.  It's one of those soothing plants that when you're sick, if you cannot even keep down water, you'll be able to keep down Lemon Balm tea.  One of my favorites, and if my friend were not halfway around the world I'd go out to my yard and snip her some fresh leaves and brew a fresh tea for her now.

It's a strange thing the synchronicity of the universe.  My thinking about herbs, and being given this beautiful herbalists outfit and hair from Fantavatar & Moonstruck!! Here is the Violante dress in purple and I just LOVE it!  I did have to edit the sleeves to be small enough for my avatar since I'm short, but once I got it adjusted I just love how it fits.

It comes with two belt options, one plain or this beautifully detailed herbalists belt with pouches, fresh herbs, a little knife, and little scrolls.  The dress also comes with a modesty shirt, but I couldn't get mine to rez well for the photo. And the hair... oh the hair!!  Fantavatar and Moonstruck is now making hair! The braids and tendrils and wonderful silk ribbon details are color change.   I love this style... called Medieval 006.

I love the way Fantavatar and Moonstruck send my deliveries in this cute little cart.  Just gets me all in the mood to go adventuring.  Now.. you may have noticed this beautiful skin I'm wearing.  This is Anna2 from Chandelle and I just love it!  I will be doing a more in-depth review of this skin soon, so keep an eye out.
