I Want to Get Away...

Sometimes you just have to get away...

When I slipped into the Maua mesh bikini by Baiastice, after I picked my jaw up from the floor, the first thing I had to do was hit the beach!

Luckily I had a friend who was dying to hit the surf as well, sporting his INDI Cargo pants and sandals by SEY.

Are you tired of wearing painted on bikinis that leave a little realism to be desired?  The Maua bikini by Baiastice fits like a dream, after a slight bit of body adjusting.  Shown here in the extra-small, I had only a few minor tweaks to get my body into beach shape.

We found a great little beach at the .::What?::. Surf & Simboard Park on Opelessence where, after joining the local group, we were able to use the surfboards and get ready to hit the waves.

Jake slipped into a great pair of mesh board shorts by CutShore on the marketplace, and then we were out into the waves hangin' ten, wiping out, and pretty much laughing our asses off.  It was a blast!

Surfing and taking photographs at the same time are not my forte, especially with my slow connection, so you'll just have to settle for the more peaceful reflections of a great time spent out on the water, becoming one with the wild waves.

After splashing and frolicking in the waves, we needed a bit of drying off and went wandering the boardwalks, exploring all the sites at this great little getaway resort.

Sneaking in a dance or two here and there along the way... and savoring the last bits of sunset as muted hues washed across the shoreline.

This dreamy resort has many beach huts and cozy appointments to let you kick back and rest, lulled by the whispering surf just steps away.

But even when the sun goes down, the sea is there, calling... echoing in your dreams. And in a virtual world, the surf is always up, waiting for your next adventure!  Are you going to get away?

What I Feel When I'm Without You

This gorgeously curvaceous mesh corset by Lily Bird found at the Chic2 event was the beginning of a love affair, rediscovering my absolute love of all things G Field.  Lending itself so sweetly to the G Field Mesh Frill Shorts, then layered over the Rose Lace Leggings and Sandals, also by G Field. Jewelry is the Oubliette Abalone set by Chop Zuey, which is incredibly crafted.

While the corset mesmerizes me with the finely buttoned and ribboned fittings (and really awesome shading), alas, as is often a downfall with mesh designs, the alpha was completely showing along the bustline.  A friend of mine offered to make me a custom alpha to wear under it, but guys, if you're going to go through the effort of designing such beautiful and carefully crafted meshes, please do take a few minutes more to assure that the alpha underlayers are better fitting and tucked in a bit from the edge of where the mesh ends, so it doesn't show so obviously.  You'll have so many more happy return customers!  Aside from the minor alpha distress, I absolutely LOVE this corset by Lily Bird and will have to go back to get it in some of the other colors as well!

Bottle that up!

I took my sweet time over the past week trying to choose a Petite of my very own, and finally narrowed it down to the lovely Al Vulo petite.  Hiln Bluebird did an amazing job crafting the look and feel of her petite.  She wasn't too sugary sweet, and not too serious looking. I love her!  There are some really great options out there though, from Yabusaka, Fallen Gods, Mynerva, The Plastik, Skinthesis, and more coming so be sure to shop around and try on the demos to get the one right on you.  You can find most of these at the Petites Kingdom mall, and there are many clothing options and accessories to get your Petite geared up and off to a good start.

For those that don't know about the Petites, they are 1/3 the size of a normal avatar and are mesh. Clothing is being resized and customized by many great designers out there, and comes on mesh layers that are worn as attachments. You can wear prims as well as use a normal ao, poses and animations.

Also, many existing hair designs will shrink down to the right size for a Petite... not all, but enough to have fun trying on what you've already got in your closet.  Pretty much, it's just like a regular you... only much much smaller!

While there is a strong leaning towards fairy and fantasy clothing for Petites, because they're so small it's one of the first things people think of, I was surprised to see a great selection of more modern and mainstream looks for them as well.

After filling up my shopping bags, trying on a bunch of clothes and giving up on the shoes (couldn't get the alphas for any of my boots to work), I strapped everything into the saddlebags of my glistening new mount and took to the skies for the journey back home.  That's right... I'm small enough to fly on the back of a Raven!  I love him... I think I'll call him Edgar.  There are some fabulous mounts for Petites, but I really liked the ones by Steam Powered Nut.  Might have to go back for the owl.. he was cool too.. and the steampunk dragon.. and the horse.

On my way back home, I swooped in to my friend Mera's stable nearby to admire her lovely horses.  I felt so tiny as I climbed upon the giant blonde stud's back, and up his neck.  He didn't seem to notice, or maybe thought I was just a horsefly as he swooshed his tail nonchalantly in the still evening air.

When I finally made it back home to my little house on the mainland, it felt postively HUGE!  I could squeeze under the crack of my door and slip along the lengthening shadows, hardly drawing any attention to myself. The bed was a welcome sight, and I made a beeline for it, dropping packages and bags to be sorted through the next day. And hey, another bonus... no need to fight over the blankets when you're smaller than the pillow, though a pillowfight could prove to be a deadly proposition.

I was so tired from all day shopping  and trying on demos and choosing what to wear that I fell straight asleep when my head hit the mattress.  Hope someone remembered to let the cat out...

Hello Gang,

It's been awhile since I last posted and I want to apologize to my friends and fans for the disappearance.  Real Life grid has been a hectic place this spring, and while it's been keeping me busy, I've been longing for a little "Me" time to log in and enjoy SL.

While I've been gone, the Petites craze has been taking off, and I'm looking forward to blogging about some Petite looks soon.  But today, I'm playing catch up on opening up and enjoying the generous gifts of some very talented designers that have sent me some things while I was away.  Thank you for your generosity and for sharing your beautiful talents with me!

Today, I will be highlighting a sexy little black dress from Stars Fashion called "Lovingly Black", and I adore it.  The flouncy ruffles at the bust are sure to be a tease, and the tempting bow tied at the front also a nice touch.

A fun dress that you can dress up or down, and would even be lovely as a tunic top over jeans, leggings or tights.  The dress also comes with a pair of black ankle booties, though I decided to show another pair of shoes with this dress today.

The shoes are the new mesh "Pry." heels by Chandelle with rhinestones and little bows dressing up the back of the heel.  Love these!  Also from Chandelle, the super adorable Emie Rabbit skin with painted on whiskers and "kiss me now" lips.  Je t'adore!  Shown here with hairbase.  Chandelle, I adore it!  Thank you~
