Chill Out - Vintage Style

Today, I'm taking the chill out train straight to the beach, vintage style, with a preview of more retro finds from Vintage Fair 2012, which opens on August 4th.  With Skin, hat, skirt, top, shorts, belt, tote, eyes and poses all found right at Vintage Fair, there's not much else you'll need to put together this look, other than the beach!

I've always loved the bohemian 60's look with the long peasant skirts and organic fabrics.  That's the feel I was going for here, with the long flowy Boho mesh skirt by Crash Republic, and the romantic handkerchief sleeved 70's girl top and belt from Lil'Lace. A quick slip out of my skirt to my frayed cutoff Crash Republic shorts below and I'm ready to cool off in the surf.

Adding the Spring Mesh hat by Baiastice and ZigZag tote by Crash Republic, also found at the Vintage Fair, I decided to kick the hippie vibe up a notch and opted to include the sizzling glamorous Jaci Belle Amie skin with freckles from Aeva with her hot all-eyes-on-me red lipstick and feline eyeliner.

Hopelessly Addicted to Mesh

I just can't get enough Mesh.  Ever since it came out on the grid last year, it's pulled me back, longing for each new creation like a drug addict.  I'm hopelessly addicted to the incredible things that fashion designers can do with mesh, and there's just no stopping such a good thing. And no stopping my Mesh habit either, so don't try.

I'm wearing the Heather mesh top by Baiastice and love how realistic it feels and moves with me. Taking the plunge a little deeper, I went and finally got my first pair of mesh hands from SLink, and can't imagine wanting to go back to using the default SL avatar hands.  The difference is night and day.  SLink de Jolie Hands come with a hud that allows you to shift the position of each hand independently, to either curved, straight or flexed.  You can slide the skin tone to match yours, choose nail polish, and either silver or gold jewelry.

I Want to Get Away...

Sometimes you just have to get away...

When I slipped into the Maua mesh bikini by Baiastice, after I picked my jaw up from the floor, the first thing I had to do was hit the beach!

Luckily I had a friend who was dying to hit the surf as well, sporting his INDI Cargo pants and sandals by SEY.

Are you tired of wearing painted on bikinis that leave a little realism to be desired?  The Maua bikini by Baiastice fits like a dream, after a slight bit of body adjusting.  Shown here in the extra-small, I had only a few minor tweaks to get my body into beach shape.

We found a great little beach at the .::What?::. Surf & Simboard Park on Opelessence where, after joining the local group, we were able to use the surfboards and get ready to hit the waves.

Jake slipped into a great pair of mesh board shorts by CutShore on the marketplace, and then we were out into the waves hangin' ten, wiping out, and pretty much laughing our asses off.  It was a blast!

Surfing and taking photographs at the same time are not my forte, especially with my slow connection, so you'll just have to settle for the more peaceful reflections of a great time spent out on the water, becoming one with the wild waves.

After splashing and frolicking in the waves, we needed a bit of drying off and went wandering the boardwalks, exploring all the sites at this great little getaway resort.

Sneaking in a dance or two here and there along the way... and savoring the last bits of sunset as muted hues washed across the shoreline.

This dreamy resort has many beach huts and cozy appointments to let you kick back and rest, lulled by the whispering surf just steps away.

But even when the sun goes down, the sea is there, calling... echoing in your dreams. And in a virtual world, the surf is always up, waiting for your next adventure!  Are you going to get away?

I'm a huge Dressing Room fan, as many of you know.  The dressing room is a discount store that highlights some new and often exclusive color releases from some of Second Life's finest designers, at intro prices that won't break the bank, and are great for filling up your closet with high quality go-to pieces.  Often I drop by to see what is new, and look for great deals on clothing, shoes, accessories, skins, and hairs.

This week is no exception.  Your Skin & Your Shape has long been showcased at The Dressing Room, and again I am wowed with another YS&YS beautiful skin.  Perfect for my current wintery mood, the Ginerva skin in "Winter" in a special makeup shade for The Dressing Room. I adore the muted powdery skin, and delicate lips.

Also found this week at The Dressing Room is the beautiful Charis sweater dress by Baiastice. I just love the sculpted drop shoulder to this sweater.
