Gacha Style - I Don't Do Cute

I don't do cutesy.  Or, at least, not easily.  Some friends of mine were talking about it on Plurk the other day.  And while some people are able to pull off the cutesy look, I am not one of those people.  Apparently I don't have the patience to wipe out my grid-lines either, or download the new SL Beta Viewer.  Ah well, one thing at a time.

So, in an attempt to break out of my serious mode (and also get back into blogging since I've been MIA for awhile...)  I took a trip to The Arcade Gacha Event, which is chock full of all kinds of cute stuff.

Perhaps the Gacha gods had heard that I don't do cutesy either, but they seemed to agree with me, bestowing me with pale beautiful somber Renee - Sinless skin from Glam Affair, Juliet lilac hair and hat from Bonne Chance, a complete and very lovely outfit from Mon Cheri including the shirt, cardigan, shorts, leggings, and boots in teal, Insufferable Dastard contacts in Aqua, afk Headphone by Iruco, Secret Store's Tiny Satchel in Coral Delight, !bang mini Sassy poses, and the Love Teddy Bear necklace in Pink by MG (which really is rather cute and a nice contrast to my look).

Oh so here's a pet peeve:  Designers that don't put a landmark to their store in with their items, or a notecard telling about their store or brand.  I have no idea who "MG" is thought I suspect it's Maxi Gossamer.  I could go back to the Arcade event and look closer at the signage to see, but once I got home and un-boxed everything and tried it on and fumbled around with poses and windlight settings to take a few pictures, I was in no mood to go back sleuthing to figure it out or to get SLURLS to add into my post for other people to be able to go shopping to find items from these creators later.

A simple request... if you have pride in the things you create and want people to be able to find you and buy more things... drop a notecard or landmark in with your creations. /end rant  and really sorry that sounded a bit ungrateful.  I love that creators offer quality items at really great prices at things like the Gacha Event at The Arcade.  I really do!  Just trying to do my part to help and maybe dropping a lil hint here and there might in some way help.

Wide Awake

Sometimes I do my best work when I'm supposed to be sleeping... unlike other people who do amazing things all the time.  I'm talking about the new Cassiopea skin by Aida Ewing of Glam Affair, and (wow!) this is a gorgeous skin!

She's a darker shade than I normally would wear, but being half asleep I bought the wrong one, and now that I have her, I'm absolutely in love with her.

The rest of my ensemble was gathered together mostly at Collabor88, so hurry over while they've still got the current collection, or you'll miss out on some great deals!

Feeling like a goddess, I went in search of a beautiful and surreal place to take pictures in and found the Mysterious Wave art installation.

And now... off to sleep I go...

A Lot to be Happy About

It's a great thing to be Happy!  Today there's a lot to be happy about... especially if you're shopping at the {Happy} store.  I had not heard of {Happy}before, but was tugged along to go shopping by one of my dear friends. From the moment we arrived, I felt a breath of fresh air that lifted my spirits, starting with the happily crafted signage over the entrance.

{Happy} carries some delightful things, sure to lift your mood!  I found the lovely blue Flirt shirt with ruffled collar, the Vive cuffed pants, and Argyle tights there.

Take a peek and see if something brings a smile to your heart, like it did mine.  It's a New Year... and hopefully a Happy one... but if things are getting you down, scoot on over and don't worry... Be {Happy}!

Nita Bracken of Tameless has done it again!  I'd like to introduce to you the new Charlotte hair with hat... new at Tameless.

SEY Aberrant

Now, this is a new experience for me, because in all my years in SL, I've never had the opportunity to review a package from a designer before. I was quite surprised to log in and find this wonderful gift from the designer of a shop called [aberrant].

A very warm ~Thank you~ to the very generous Dylain Nikita, owner and creator of [aberrant], who sent me some wonderful things to keep warm this winter. I adore this Red Plaid Knit Scarf with the cute little skully pin accent. Snuggled up in the Long John Shirt, Fingerless Gloves, and Scarf from [aberrant], I'm ready to explore the snowy slopes at Wolf Mountain Ski Resort.

Just one more layer... the red Hunter jacket from SEY, and I'm all set for adventure in avalanche territory.

Just had to have another scarf for my collection, so I found more at [aberrant] and ran home with the Skully scarf. Mine!!
